Join the Talking Therapies UK Therapist Network

Thank you for your interest in joining our network of psychological therapists. We engage practitioners under one of two routes: Route A, for therapists who hold current membership of, or accreditation with, a recognised professional body whose register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care or which otherwise enjoys equivalent recognition; and Route B, for therapists who do not currently hold such membership but who can evidence significant relevant professional experience together with relevant qualifications. The standard of clinical care we expect of every therapist within the network is uniform across the two routes.

This application form collects the information we need to begin our vetting process. It takes approximately fifteen to twenty minutes to complete, and you should have your relevant credentials, insurance policy, DBS certificate number, and details of two professional referees to hand before you start.

Route B applications are not currently being accepted

The network is currently sourcing under Route A only. If you intend to apply under Route B (significant relevant experience together with relevant qualifications), your application will still be recorded on file and you will receive a polite email confirming that we are not at this time accepting Route B applications. If you intend to apply under Route A, the standard process applies. Either way, you may proceed with the form below.

What you will need before starting

  • For Route A: your professional body membership or accreditation number (BACP, NCPS, UKCP, BABCP, BPS, BPC, HCPC)
  • For Route B: details of your significant relevant professional experience and your relevant qualifications, and the ethical code you wish to adopt for your practice within the network (typically the BACP or NCPS code)

  • Your Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) registration number

Clinical Records & Electronic Systems

Talking Therapies UK uses its own GDPR-compliant clinical records platform.
All network therapists are required to record clinical notes, outcome measures, risk assessments, treatment plans and correspondence within the Talking Therapies UK portal. This replaces the need for any separate record-keeping system such as BAC PAC, Cliniko, or WriteUpp. The platform is fully UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 compliant, hosted on secure UK servers, and includes structured templates, outcome measure scoring, audit logging, and automatic backup. Access and training are provided during induction.

Specialist Qualifications (optional)

Please tick any specialist modalities in which you hold formal post-qualification training.
